Mehmet Şimşek, in a post on the X social media platform, evaluated the "Sectoral Inflation Expectations" data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).
Şimşek stated that, as noted in the latest report, inflation has increased in September due to rising food prices caused by drought and seasonal factors. This situation has led to a limited deterioration in 12-month inflation expectations among market participants and households on a monthly basis.
However, the Minister emphasized that inflation expectations in the real sector have improved, stating that the realized inflation plays a decisive role in shaping expectations. Şimşek expressed that with the continuation of the disinflation process, they expect improvements in inflation expectations to continue.
