


Turkey's leading information and communication technology company Türk Telekom announced the appointment of Ebubekir Şahin as CEO. This appointment aims to accelerate the company's digital transformation process.
Türk Telekom Chairman of the Board İsmail İlhan Hatipoğlu stated in his announcement that they will continue their investments and contributions to the country’s economy: 'We continue our investments for our digital future. Türk Telekom will continue to provide services across the country with its 34,000 employees.'
Hatipoğlu thanked the former CEO of Türk Telekom, Ümit Önal, and wished him success in his new role at the Presidency of Cybersecurity of the Republic of Turkey.
Ebubekir Şahin was born in 1974 in Çayeli, Rize. After completing his primary education in Rize, he finished his high school education in Sakarya and graduated from the Faculty of Communication at Gazi University in 1995. In 2002, he obtained a master's degree in Journalism.
Şahin began his career as a clerk in the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Security, later taking on roles as a parliamentary advisor in the Grand National Assembly, head of the Private Office at the Ministry of Justice, and various positions in the Ministry of Industry and Trade. He held significant roles at Anadolu Agency from 2011 to 2014, and subsequently served as Undersecretary at the Ministry of Family and Social Policies.
In 2017, Şahin was elected as a member of RTÜK and was appointed as the President of the RTÜK Higher Board on January 23, 2019, and he has since assumed the presidency for the fourth term on October 18, 2023.
Ebubekir Şahin is married and a father of two children. He will guide Türk Telekom's digital journey with his modern management approach and innovative perspective. Additionally, he is proficient in English.
