The Turkish textile sector achieved significant success by exporting a total of 7 billion 48 million 186 thousand dollars to 199 countries and free zones during the period from January to September 2025. During this period, the sector continued its growth momentum by increasing its exports by 0.5% compared to the same period last year.
Among the observed developments, exports to European Union countries stand out with 2 billion 672 million 921 thousand dollars, claiming the leading position. In this process, a total of 1 million 866 thousand 922 tons of textile products were offered to the global market. Europe continues to be the largest buyer of Turkish textile products, and the opportunities provided by this market significantly contribute to the sector.
African countries showed remarkable growth, increasing their exports by 16.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1 billion 86 million 721 thousand dollars. Thus, Africa became the fastest-growing region on a period basis. This increase indicates a rise in global demand for Turkish textile products and the emergence of new opportunities in the sector.
Italy stands out as the country with the highest sales of Turkish textile products. Buyers in Italy create a significant market by preferring Turkish textile technology and quality. In addition to Italy, the orientation towards other European market countries is also part of the strategic planning of Turkish producers.
Moreover, alongside the increase in exports in the sector, Turkish textile brands have started to stand out with sustainable production and environmentally friendly practices. This situation provides a competitive advantage in international trade while strengthening the image of the Turkish textile sector both locally and globally. Growth is expected to continue in the coming years.
