The TÜRK-İŞ Confederation announced the results of its September 2025 research, which it conducts monthly to analyze employees' living standards and price changes in basic necessities.
According to the research conducted this month, the hunger line in Turkey was determined as 27,970 TL, while the poverty line, which includes food expenditures along with essential needs such as clothing, housing (rent, electricity, water, fuel), transportation, education, and health, rose to a total monthly expenditure of 91,109 TL.
Specifically, the monthly cost of living for a single employee in September 2025 was calculated as 36,305 TL.
Food expenditures for a four-person family living in Ankara showed an increase of 3.17 percent compared to the previous month. The twelve-month change rate was 41.05 percent, and the annual average increase was recorded as 40.95 percent.
