The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) plans to continue its delegation programs aimed at diversifying export markets and connecting Turkish exporters with new buyers without slowing down in 2026. TİM organized 32 delegation programs in 31 countries in 2025 and aims to increase the number of events to over 200 by bringing exporters to five continents with 38 trade delegations in 2026.
TİM President Mustafa Gültepe expects Turkey to close 2023 with $270 billion in exports. For 2024, the target is $282 billion. Gültepe stated that they will establish effective platforms to promote Turkey's production potential on a global scale.
Gültepe noted that they held a total of nearly 200 delegation programs and participated in over 300 fairs in 2025, bringing 546 companies together with more than 4,000 buyers in 31 countries, and conducting approximately 9,000 bilateral meetings.
Gültepe emphasized that Turkish production costs are 60-65% higher than those of Asian countries and 15-20% higher than those of Eastern European countries. This negatively affects export growth. He mentioned that despite a 3.7% increase in exports in the first 11 months of 2023, significant contributions came from the automotive, defense industry, and chemical sectors.
Gültepe stated that despite protectionist measures and the effects of global trade, they can achieve the $282 billion goods export target for 2026. He called for exports to be a priority.
