


The Ministry of Trade announced that market inspections continue uninterrupted in order to protect citizens' economic well-being and ensure stability in the domestic market. In this context, it was reported that a total of 470,037 companies and 31,636,141 products were examined between January 1 and October 31. As a result of the inspections, administrative fines amounting to 2 billion 383 million 710 thousand 426 lira were imposed.
The General Directorate of Internal Trade announced that in October, 7,467 companies were inspected and a fine of 162.6 million lira was imposed. Throughout the year, inspections were conducted in various sectors such as automotive, real estate, and jewelry, examining a total of 101,723 real and legal entities. A total of 936 million 328 thousand 568 lira was fined to 5,052 individuals found with violations.
Due to unfair commercial practices and payment periods, fines of 290 million 172 thousand 371 lira were imposed, 295 million 882 thousand 345 lira for exorbitant price practices, 19 million 38 thousand 653 lira from the jewelry sector, 88 million 653 thousand 870 lira in the real estate sector, and 193 million 890 thousand 838 lira in the inspections of the automotive sector.
In the inspections conducted by the General Directorate of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance, 3,630 companies were inspected in October, and 57.1 million lira in fines was applied. In the first 10 months of the year, 29,092 individuals were inspected, and a total of 548 million 958 thousand 396 lira in fines was imposed.
As a result of the investigations by the Competition Authority, last year 223 companies were fined 7.7 billion lira, while in the first 10 months of this year, 196 firms were fined 11 billion 461 million 294 thousand 34 lira. The Ministry of Trade announced that it will continue its fight against inflation, exorbitant prices, stockpiling, and unfair commercial practices.
