TCMB Reserves Showed an Increase: Reached 186.4 Billion Dollars

Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye's Reserve Status

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) announced that the value of its official reserve assets has increased, reaching a total of 186.4 billion dollars. Compared to last week, reserve assets have increased by 1.7%. This increase is regarded as a development that could positively influence currency liquidity in the markets and the overall economic situation.

Changes in Foreign Currency and Gold Assets

The Central Bank's foreign currency assets have risen by 1.7% compared to the previous week, reaching 69 billion dollars. This demonstrates the Central Bank's success in managing market liquidity during a period of increased foreign currency demand. Additionally, gold-reserve assets have also increased by 1.9%, reaching 109.7 billion dollars. This increase may also be related to the effects of global gold prices.

IMF Position and Foreign Currency Liabilities

The total of the IMF reserve position and Special Drawing Rights (SDR) has increased by 0.4%, reaching 7.7 billion dollars. The Central Bank's strategy in managing its reserves is contributing to strengthening relationships with international financial institutions.

The foreign currency liabilities affecting the liquidity of the public sector, namely the Central Bank and the Central Administration, have also increased by 1.2%, reaching 120.7 billion dollars. Pre-determined foreign currency liabilities have increased by 2.3%, set at 57.7 billion dollars, while contingent foreign currency liabilities have risen by 0.3%, reaching 63.0 billion dollars.

Evaluation of Swap Transactions

As of this week, the Central Bank's foreign currency liabilities resulting from total foreign currency swap transactions have been recorded at 17.6 billion dollars. This situation is interpreted as an indication of the steps taken by the Central Bank to increase foreign currency supply in the markets.
