SPK has initiated legal action against unauthorized Forex sites.

Securities and Exchange Commission's (SPK) Strict Intervention Against Unauthorized Forex Sites

The Capital Markets Board (SPK) announced that legal actions have been initiated against 19 internet sites that are conducting unauthorized forex transactions in order to protect investors in Turkey. The board stated that these sites operate abroad and have been allowing individuals residing in Turkey to conduct unauthorized leveraged transactions.

Legal Process Initiated

In SPK's announcement, "The addresses of the internet sites detected to be carrying out unauthorized leveraged transactions via the internet targeting residents in Turkey are listed below, and it has been decided to take the necessary legal actions to block access to those internet sites in accordance with the fourth paragraph of the 99th article of the Capital Markets Law."

Access Block for 6 Additional Internet Sites

The board also decided to impose access restrictions on 6 separate internet sites to protect investors' rights and interests. In SPK's announcement, "In order to protect the rights and interests of investors, based on article 128/1-(a) of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362, it has been decided to take the necessary legal actions to block access to the internet sites listed below in order to prevent unauthorized activities in the capital markets, in accordance with article 99/3 of the Capital Markets Law."
