Solana Active Address Count Sees Sharp Decline: Lowest in 12 Months

Recently affected by successive fluctuations, the Solana network has drawn attention as the number of active addresses decreased to 3.3 million. This represents the lowest level in the last 12 months and highlights the decline in user activity that emerged with the end of the memecoin craze.

Solana (SOL) particularly gained prominence during the memecoin explosion in late 2024, accelerating this trend with speed and low transaction costs. However, as interest in memecoins decreased starting in 2025, the daily active address count on the network has seen a steady decline. After reaching over 9 million active addresses in January, the network has now fallen to about one-third of that level, raising concerns among investors.

Platforms like Pump.fun are still operating strongly; this platform generates over 1 million dollars in volume per day, holding about 90% of the token launchpad market. However, the overall contraction in participation poses an important sign questioning the sustainability of memecoin-focused growth.

With the decrease in memecoin interest, user activity on the Solana network has naturally begun to normalize. Nonetheless, the network continues to pivot towards creating new opportunities in various areas. Innovations such as decentralized exchanges, prediction markets, and real-world asset protocols are rapidly finding their place within the Solana ecosystem.

In the DeFi space, the total total value locked (TVL) has reached 10 billion dollars. Strong protocols like Jupiter, Kamino, and Jito are among the main elements supporting this growth. The events of the past year demonstrate that the Solana ecosystem needs sustainability not only from short-term hype periods but also with a more balanced structure.

Network developers have shifted towards building more permanent products and use cases, moving beyond the memecoin-focused user influx. This indicates a strategic change that investors should consider regarding which areas to focus on in the future.
