QNB Turkey held the ‘Pink Ball Tennis Tournament’ to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, sending an important message. The event took place on Saturday, October 4th, at the Inventist Tennis Academy, attended by QNB Turkey Chairman Ömer Aras and General Manager Ömür Tan, among other bank employees. The event honored the memory of Elif Yavaş and all women who have lost their lives.
The opening match of the tournament was played by QNB Turkey Chairman Ömer Aras, just as in previous years. This year, national tennis players Berfu Cengiz and former national tennis players Berceste Şeber, Melis Sezer, Erhan Oral, tennis coach Barış Ergün, and Turkish Tennis Federation Board Member Eda Tan also participated in the exhibition match.
In his speech at the tournament, QNB Turkey Chairman Ömer Aras stated, “Today is a meaningful day for all of us. We gathered not only for a tournament on the courts but also to honor those who have passed away, support women who are fighting, and raise awareness on this issue. I remember Elif Yavaş and those we have lost with mercy. This tournament was the idea of the precious Elif, and we have been carrying on this legacy for four years. As emphasized by the World Health Organization, early detection in breast cancer saves lives. We at QNB Turkey place great importance on spreading this awareness. This tournament serves as an important platform of solidarity to show that we stand by women and families.”
