Nvidia's Blackwell Chips: Exclusive to the USA!

Nvidia announced that its most advanced chips in the field of artificial intelligence will be allocated only to United States companies. US President Donald Trump stated in an interview on CBS's "60 Minutes" program that these chips will be completely kept away from China and other countries.

Trump emphasized that "We will not give them to anyone else but the most advanced chips," and also highlighted that Nvidia is the most valuable company in terms of market value. These statements indicate that the Trump administration may impose tighter restrictions on American artificial intelligence chips.

In July, the Trump administration announced a new artificial intelligence plan aimed at easing environmental regulations and expanding artificial intelligence exports to allies. However, last week, Nvidia announced that it would supply over 260,000 Blackwell chips to South Korea.

Despite Trump stating that he would not allow Chinese companies to purchase the most advanced Blackwell chips, he left a loophole for lower-capacity versions. "We will allow them to do business with Nvidia, but not with the most advanced ones," he said.

Additionally, the possibility of Blackwell chips being sold to Chinese firms drew criticism from hardline politicians in Washington. Republican Congressman John Moolenaar stated that this is equivalent to "giving uranium to Iran for nuclear weapon production."

Trump indicated last week that he might discuss these chips with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, but the subject did not come up.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang added that they did not apply for an export license for the Chinese market, as Beijing has clearly shown its stance against the company.
