According to the company's announcement, this broad investment, which will continue until 2029, was made possible by an export license obtained from the Trump administration. This license allowed the company to ship Nvidia's latest chips to the UAE.

The U.S. government enabled Microsoft to send Nvidia's advanced chips to the UAE for the first time, allowing the tech giant to further expand its existing investments in the Gulf region. Microsoft President Brad Smith emphasized the significance of this process, stating in an interview with The Financial Times, “We are the first company to obtain a license under the Trump administration.”
