Melvin Greer is the new Chief AI Officer of AI MINDSystems!

AI MINDSystems Foundation has announced the appointment of Melvin Greer, PhD, as its Chief AI Officer. Dr. Greer is a renowned technologist and innovation leader supporting the mission of protecting personal data privacy and enabling financial inclusion for individuals.

Having retired from Intel Corporation in August 2025, Dr. Greer served as a Fellow and Chief Data Scientist, where he was an innovator accelerating advanced privacy protection practices in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. He will now join the leadership team of AI MINDSystems Foundation to guide the AI dimensions of the person-centered AI MINDSystems Trusted Data Ecosystem™.

Dr. Greer emphasized the importance of a human-centered approach in data and artificial intelligence systems, stating, "Data is not oil or fuel. Data is people." He added, "The AI MINDSystems Foundation team has laid the groundwork for a much-needed technological revolution aimed at ensuring the health, well-being, and equity of individuals. I am excited to drive the mission forward and develop new structural, technological, and economic paradigms."

AI MINDSystems Foundation Co-Founder and CEO Heather Leigh Flannery expressed that, "The only party that should store individuals' health, biometric, and a wide variety of personal information is the individuals themselves," stating that they have established the necessary business model and framework to support this mission. Dr. Greer will continue to provide strong support in this role.

Dr. Greer has collaborated with the AI MINDSystems Foundation on the National HERO (Health Enhancing Resource Orchestration) initiative from the beginning. This initiative paved the way for the launch of the AI MINDSystems Trusted Data Ecosystem.

With deep expertise in the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence, Dr. Greer is knowledgeable in data security, sustainable infrastructure, and ethical AI governance. His work is critical to accelerating the broad impact of the AI MINDSystems Foundation. He was recognized as a "Leader to Watch in 2025" by CIO World.

Dr. Greer's key priorities include developing technical capabilities in the fields of AI and data science and ensuring operational oversight, leading AI policy, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.
