Makyol İnşaat's Growing Infrastructure Investments in Romania

Makyol İnşaat plays an important role in Romania, located on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) corridors that connect Eastern and Western Europe. The company acts as the main contractor in collaboration with the country's National Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) and the Ministry of Transport, serving as a central hub for the logistics flow between Central Europe and the Balkans.

Scope of Projects in Romania

Makyol draws attention with its seven major projects carried out in cooperation with local and Turkish partners. These projects make up the country's most significant infrastructure investments from both engineering and financial perspectives. The projects in the portfolio include:

  • Transylvania Motorway (A3),
  • Four phases of the Sibiu-Făgăraș Motorway (A13),
  • Ploiești-Buzău Motorway (A7),

These projects form the cornerstone of the main transportation network connecting to the capital of Romania.

Economic Impact of Investments

With a total value of over 3 billion Euros, these projects will see the construction of 128.55 kilometers of highway, 6.6 kilometers of metro, 2.8 kilometers of tunnel, over 150 bridges and viaducts, along with numerous interchanges and stations. More than 3,000 engineers, technicians, and workers will be employed on the projects.

Financing and Consortiums

The infrastructure projects in Romania are supported by various funds from the European Union and the Romanian Government. Makyol forms consortiums with different Turkish firms while also collaborating with EU-based consulting companies on the projects.

CEO Saffet Oğuz Çebi's Assessment

Makyol İnşaat Romania CEO Saffet Oğuz Çebi stated that they showcase Turkey's engineering strength through their projects, saying, “The motorway and metro projects we are carrying out in Romania reflect the reliability and problem-solving capability of Turkish engineering. Our projects contribute to Romania's integration into the EU transport network.”

Additionally, emphasizing the cooperation between Turkey and Romania, Çebi noted that the total value of the 231 projects in the Turkish contracting sector has exceeded 15.2 billion dollars. Makyol's portfolio size also exceeds 3 billion Euros.
