ISO Export Climate Index Results for October 2025 Announced

The Turkey Manufacturing Sector Export Climate Index, announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), covers data for the October 2025 period. This index measures the operating conditions in Turkey's main export markets, indicating that all figures above the 50.0 threshold signal an improvement in the export climate, while those below indicate a deterioration.

According to the data, the ISO Manufacturing Sector Export Climate Index rose from 51.7 in September to 52.4 in October. This represents the strongest improvement in the Turkish manufacturing sector's export climate and marks the most significant increase since May 2024. Thus, export demand conditions have strengthened for the consecutive 22nd month.

Growth Momentum Increasing in Germany, the USA, and Italy

In October, a significant growth momentum was observed in many key export markets, especially in Germany, the USA, and Italy. These countries account for approximately 20% of Turkey's manufacturing industry exports. While economic activity in Germany recorded the fastest growth in two and a half years, the growth rates in the USA and Italy reached their highest levels in the last two and 19 months, respectively. In the United Kingdom, production showed an increase in October after a slight decline in September. However, economic activity in France exhibited a significant contraction, recording the highest decline rate in five months.

Production Growth in Saudi Arabia Breaks Records

In the United Arab Emirates, economic activity lost momentum compared to September but continued to grow. In Saudi Arabia, however, the rate of production growth was recorded as the highest among the economies surveyed. In Central and Eastern Europe, demand conditions showed signs of weakening; production fell in Romania, Poland, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic. The sharpest production contraction among the surveyed economies was observed in Taiwan, although the speed of this contraction has decreased to the mildest level in the past five months.

S&P Global Market Intelligence Economic Director Andrew Harker, commenting on the October data, stated, “Clear signs have been observed that growth has strengthened in significant export markets for the Turkish manufacturing industry. This situation brings about the most noticeable improvement in approximately a year and a half.”
