Concerts held throughout November were organized by the Limak Philharmonic Orchestra and featured world-famous opera artists performing in Turkey. The 'Meeting with the Stars of Opera' concerts took place on November 4th at Ankara ATO Congresium and on November 6th at İstanbul Volkswagen Arena, bringing together more than 7,000 art enthusiasts as well as prominent figures from business, bureaucracy, arts, and media.
Under the baton of Italian conductor Pietro Mazzetti, the orchestra and the stars of opera received applause from the audience for minutes. The concert's extensive repertoire featured world-renowned tenor Murat Karahan, dramatic soprano Alessandra Di Giorgio, and Montenegrin soprano Tamara Radjenovic, known for her contemporary touch.
Tickets for the concerts, which sold out days in advance, included selections from Bizet’s 'Carmen Overture', arias from Puccini’s 'Tosca' and 'La Fanciulla del West', and pieces from Verdi’s 'I Vespri Siciliani' in the first part. In the second half, Murat Karahan delivered a powerful performance with interpretations of Rodrigo and Bécaud. Tamara Radjenovic garnered great acclaim with Cinema Paradiso and Skyfall, while Alessandra Di Giorgio made a lasting impression with Bésame Mucho.
In the finale of the concert, the three artists performed the anonymous piece 'Yaralı Gönül' together. This unforgettable performance, where artists from different countries united in the universal language of music, was applauded for minutes by the audience filling the hall.
Limak Group of Companies and Limak Foundation Chairman Ebru Özdemir emphasized the significance of the concerts: “We felt once again the unifying power of art. The proceeds from these concerts will support Turkey’s Engineer Girls. Art has the power to enlarge dreams, and we feel this in every performance,” she said.
