In 2025, the number of wrench attacks in the cryptocurrency world increased by 75%. During this period, 72 verified incidents were recorded. These incidents involve attacks that use physical violence to steal cryptocurrencies.

The region with the most significant increase is Europe. Europe accounts for more than 40% of the incidents worldwide, making it the leading region. In this context, France is in the forefront. The country saw 19 reported attacks. These attacks include home invasions, kidnappings, and targeted threats.

The losses caused by cryptocurrency thefts exceeded 40 million dollars. This situation indicates that despite the increase in digital security measures, physical threats have also become a security issue. Some insurance companies have begun offering special insurance policies to address this new situation.
