Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) assisted SK hynix in becoming the first to receive Open Compute Project (OCP) Security Assessment Framework and Authorization (S.A.F.E.) recognition. This achievement represents an industry-wide collaboration and highlights Keysight’s commitment to securing its technology supply chain.
As cloud adoptions accelerate and artificial intelligence (AI) workloads increase, large-scale data centers face information security threats. The complexity of hardware and software supply chains, combined with the growing sensitivity of data, requires a unified and rigorous approach to assessing product security. OCP is an industry initiative that encourages the development of solutions to effectively meet the increasing demands for server infrastructure.
As an approved OCP S.A.F.E. Security Review Provider (SRP), Keysight offers expert assessments of security measures at both the software and hardware levels. This includes elements such as code quality, architecture, cryptographic protection, software update mechanisms, and supply chain integrity. These rigorous reviews provide vendors with a secure way to demonstrate their compliance with modern security best practices, building trust within the technology ecosystem.
In its assessment of SK hynix, Keysight implemented a unique code security assessment framework by combining industry standards like the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) with its own developed criteria. As a result of this assessment, SK hynix achieved a high score, reflecting the effectiveness of Keysight’s structured methodology and the client’s strong engineering practices.
Woonhyug Jee, Vice President of eSSD Software and Product Engineering at SK hynix, stated, "Keysight's structured approach, sensitivity, and technical rigor played a key role in our successful assessment. Close collaboration with our developers ensured a seamless process from start to finish."
Marc Witteman, Technical Director at Keysight, expressed, "OCP S.A.F.E. establishes a common security foundation among high-scale ecosystems. Keysight’s role is to ensure that the assessment is as comprehensive, efficient, and insightful as possible, enabling clients to strengthen their secure product development. The SK hynix PEB110 E1.S device represents an extraordinary security architecture in compliance with the design principles set forth by OCP S.A.F.E.," he noted.
