Japan's Financial Services Agency plans to approve cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs). According to Nikkei sources, these products are expected to be listed for trading in 2028.
The approval from the Financial Services Agency could provide retail investors access to Bitcoin and other digital assets under the Investment Trust Law.
SBI Holdings and Nomura Holdings have expressed their intention to submit ETF proposals. However, approval from the Tokyo Stock Exchange will also be required for the listing of these products.
