A comprehensive investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has raised serious allegations against IQ Money Payment Services and Electronic Money Inc. The investigation has determined that the company is involved in organized crime activities such as illegal betting and qualified fraud, systematically facilitating these activities through high-volume financial transfers.
In the legal process, detailed analyses conducted by MASAK have shown that the transaction volume of approximately 155 billion TL carried out through IQ Money is unrelated to ordinary financial processes. The analyses reveal that the transactions were made within short timeframes, at high frequencies, and in a repetitive manner.
This abnormal transaction traffic, combined with the disproportionate ratio between deposit and withdrawal transactions, leads to a serious loss of trust in the financial system. Particularly, the high frequency of terms such as 'bet', 'gambling', 'game', 'lottery', and 'fraudulent' in transaction descriptions makes the company’s lines of activity even more suspicious.
Authorities believe there is a large network formed from the income generated by IQ Money from these illegal activities. This situation threatens not only a single company but also the credibility of the entire sector. It has been reported that a trustee has been appointed to halt the company’s operations and that its financial activities have been suspended as part of the investigation.
Currently, detailed examinations and necessary legal processes are ongoing regarding the matter. It is considered that the reports prepared will be a significant step in preventing similar operations within the financial system. This situation serves as a warning for other companies; it is emphasized that a zero-tolerance principle should be adopted in combating illegal financial activities.
