The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) emphasized once again its goal of contributing to the Turkish economy and international trade on its 144th anniversary. ITO President Şekib Avdagiç stated in a written statement, "ITO draws strength from its 800,000 members and makes its voice heard throughout Turkey and around the world. On this occasion, I extend my gratitude to all our members."
Avdagiç noted that their aim is to always elevate the quality of service to the highest level. He stated, "Our priority is to convey the concerns of our members to the relevant authorities and voice these demands in the public domain." Emphasizing that the chamber derives its strength from its 800,000 members, Avdagiç said, "Our determination and work ethic continually grow with the strength we receive from our members."
Referring to ITO's mission to enhance the trade, production, and competitive power of Istanbul and Turkey, Avdagiç highlighted that they take an average of 1,250 firms to 40+ fairs in 18 countries each year. "By promoting Turkish products to the world, we have a significant share in export records," he stated.
Avdagiç mentioned that Istanbul Fair Center, a subsidiary of ITO, has reached an important position in both national and international fair organization, stating, "We have become the sole operator of all halls under the IDTM framework, which allowed us to become the title deed owners of our fair areas."
He conveyed that they have supported 11,000 entrepreneurs through the Business Acceleration Center (BTM), helping them find a place in the global market, saying, "We have managed to open the Turkish entrepreneurship ecosystem to global markets."
Avdagiç expressed that ITO is a small representation of Turkey, stating, "We aim to enhance the welfare of our city and country with our members from different political views, beliefs, and regions through a culture of common sense and discussion."
