


WILMINGTON, Del., November 3, 2025 – InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDCC), a company engaged in research and development of mobile, video, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, announced today that a preliminary injunction has been granted against Disney by a court in Germany.
The Munich District Court ruled that InterDigital is entitled to seek a preliminary injunction against Disney for infringing a patent covering a method that dynamically overlays one video stream onto another. Disney may appeal this decision.
This court ruling follows a preliminary injunction granted in favor of InterDigital by a court in Brazil regarding the infringement of the patents claimed by InterDigital.
InterDigital's General Counsel Josh Schmidt stated, "This once again demonstrates how Disney has used InterDigital's innovations to deliver content streaming to consumers and establish a multi-billion dollar global streaming business model." He added, "Disney is aware of the importance of innovation and intellectual property protection in its business model. We encourage them to obtain a license that fairly values InterDigital's core innovations."
