HYPE and UNI Voting Excites Investors

Important Votes Draw Attention in the Crypto Market

As the year draws to a close in the crypto market, significant governance votes on altcoins like HYPE and UNI are capturing investors' attention. These votes can have a wide-ranging impact, from tokenomic changes to long-term supply dynamics.

Uniswap's UNI Fication Proposal

The vote regarding Uniswap's UNI fication proposal will end on December 25th. This proposal could put an end to the long-standing debates about protocol fees and value accrual for UNI holders. Developed collaboratively by Uniswap Labs and the Uniswap Foundation, this proposal aims to activate protocol fees across the ecosystem. Under the proposal, the burning of 100 million UNI tokens from the treasury is planned. This amount has been determined to reflect the amount that would be burned if the fees are activated from the outset.

The Uniswap Foundation reported high interest in the on-chain vote. In a statement on the social media platform X, the foundation said, "Last month, we published a governance proposal to activate protocol fees and align incentives within the Uniswap ecosystem. UNI fication has surpassed 63 million votes in favor. Tomorrow, the proposal will proceed to an on-chain vote."

Hyperliquid and HYPE Token Vote

Meanwhile, Hyperliquid's governance process will conclude on December 24th. On this date, validators will officially finalize the vote to permanently burn HYPE tokens valued at approximately $1 billion from the Assistance Fund. This action means that 10% of the circulating and total supply will be pulled from the market.

The Assistance Fund operates with assets worth $998,965,886.59 held at a system-controlled address. These tokens are kept at an address without a private key, making their retrieval without a hard fork mathematically impossible. The vote aims to create a binding social consensus on the non-accessibility of these funds in any way. In this case, Hyperliquid would take a step to further strengthen its high growth potential in the crypto world.
