In 2023, public offerings are attracting attention with a resurgence. Investors have started to see significant increases in stock performance after the volatile trends experienced on Borsa Istanbul up to September. Since the beginning of the year, 17 companies have conducted their public offerings.
Dof Robotics and Eco Green Energy stand out among the companies that hit the ceiling with their public offering performances. Dof Robotics caught attention with 10 ceiling hits after the first six months, while Eco Green had 11 series of ceilings. Vakıf Factoring achieved 2 ceilings in two trading days, and Pasifik Holding experienced a ceiling on its first trading day. These companies create a competitive environment with their ceiling series from previous years.
The public offering index of 2023 has shown an increase of 82.14 percent compared to previous years. Moreover, the number of investors has reached approximately 5.26 million, indicating a revival in the market. However, the fact that only three companies dropped below their public offering price on their first trading day highlights the importance of investor caution.
The Capital Markets Board (SPK) announced that public offerings will be expedited, reporting that approximately 120-130 projects are awaiting approval. SPK President İbrahim Ömer Gönül stated that the public offerings of new companies are crucial for the dynamics of the market. After completing the relevant processes, it is expected that individual investor demand will contribute to the process.
On the other hand, the fact that 7 of the 17 companies that started trading this year remained below their public offering prices necessitates careful monitoring of market effects. Companies like Armada Food have notably closed well below their public offering prices. In contrast, Destek Factoring and Gülermak continue to attract investor interest, closing at % 1709.28 and % 1055.33 above their public offering prices, respectively.
