Important Call from GYODER President for Housing Policy

GYODER President Neşecan Çekici stated that the effects of the 'Century Housing Project', introduced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the sector are quite significant. Çekici emphasized that such projects have the potential to transform not only housing production but also lifestyles.

The project's details highlight the set target of a total of 500 thousand housing units. Çekici expressed that a significant portion of these units, specifically one-fifth, is planned for İstanbul and for young people, stating that he believes this strategy also takes demographic dynamics into account.

Correctly analyzing demographic changes and the needs of the young population is vital for housing projects. Çekici expressed his belief that the Prime Minister's approach on this matter will positively shape future housing policies, noting that the current segmentations have also been successfully established.

Çekici emphasized the importance of creating living spaces, indicating that merely constructing houses is not enough; instead, there is a need to develop sustainable and socially strong lifestyles for people. He highlighted that this perspective is critical especially in order to respond to the needs of the young population.

Arguing that a 10-year housing policy should be established in the long term, the GYODER President stated that such strategies would reduce uncertainties in the sector and provide a safe environment for long-term investments.
