Wiz, a company operating in the field of cybersecurity, announced that the acquisition by Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has passed the antitrust review by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). This information was revealed by Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport at a Wall Street Journal event.

The $32 billion deal is the largest acquisition ever made by Alphabet. Following the acquisition, Wiz will integrate with Google's cloud division, enhancing the company's cybersecurity solutions to help businesses mitigate critical risks.

Wiz CEO Rappaport commented on a question regarding the DOJ review, stating, "This is definitely a significant milestone, but we still have a journey between signing and completion."

In June, reports surfaced that Bloomberg indicated DOJ antitrust officials were examining whether Alphabet's planned acquisition of the cybersecurity firm Wiz would unlawfully limit competition in the market.

A spokesperson for Google expressed eagerness to complete the review process in other jurisdictions, noting that the Wiz acquisition is expected to close in 2026, subject to normal closing conditions.

The Department of Justice and Wiz did not respond immediately.
