Wiz, a company operating in the field of cybersecurity, announced that the acquisition by Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has passed the antitrust review by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). This information was revealed by Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport at a Wall Street Journal event.

The $32 billion deal is set to be the largest acquisition by Alphabet. Following the acquisition, Wiz will integrate with Google's cloud unit, allowing the company's cybersecurity solutions to be developed in a way that helps businesses reduce critical risks.

Wiz CEO Rappaport, in response to a question about the DOJ review of the deal, stated, "This is definitely a significant milestone, but we still have a journey between signing and completing."

In reports from June, the Bloomberg organization indicated that DOJ antitrust officials were examining whether Alphabet's planned acquisition of cybersecurity firm Wiz would illegally restrict competition in the market.

A Google spokesperson expressed eagerness for the completion of the review process in other jurisdictions and noted that the acquisition of Wiz is expected to be finalized in 2026, subject to usual closing conditions.

The Department of Justice and Wiz did not respond immediately.
