Google has announced its decision to accelerate investments in Belgium. The company will make an additional 5 billion euros in investments over the next two years to expand its cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure.
This additional investment will also include the expansion of the existing data center in Belgium. According to the announced information, 300 new job opportunities will be created during this process. Google has a large data center located in the city of Saint-Ghislain, which was built with an investment of approximately 11 billion euros, and this center currently provides employment for 600 people.
Google also announced that it will invest in wind energy projects in Belgium. This move aims to support the electricity grid with clean energy sources. This approach is considered an important step both for the company’s sustainability goals and for meeting local energy requirements.
