


The Food and Agricultural Products Market Monitoring and Evaluation Committee addressed price changes in food products and the supply-demand balance in recent meetings. In the statement published by the committee, it was noted that the inflation targets set for the year 2026 were taken into consideration.
It was emphasized that price and supply developments in global markets are moving in a supportive direction for domestic markets. In particular, it was recorded that risks that may be encountered in the first three months of the year were analyzed in line with the inflation targets for 2026.
The statement stressed that measures needed to ensure the sustainability of the supply-demand balance in food and agricultural product prices will continue to be implemented decisively. The Committee will continue its work with effective coordination in this regard.
In the meeting, measures taken in cooperation with relevant institutions to ensure the supply-demand and price balance of basic food products were evaluated for the period until the end of 2025. Additionally, detailed discussions were held on developments in the milk market, such as the widespread implementation of organized agricultural regions, projects to increase food productivity, and issues related to agricultural irrigation. Various structural measures were emphasized.
It was decided to assess financing opportunities for investments that will reduce costs and increase efficiency in agricultural production. The scope of measures for the rational and economical use of water resources will be expanded, and necessary legislative regulations will be planned.
Today's meeting was attended by Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, President of the Presidential Strategy and Budget office İbrahim Şenel, along with relevant deputy ministers and institutional officials.
