The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has made significant strides in the energy sector by granting licenses to a total of 43 companies. This regulation for the year 2023 covers the electricity and petroleum markets. At the same time, EPDK has made the decision to terminate the licenses of 10 companies, thus initiating a reassessment process in the market.
According to the announcement published by EPDK in the Official Gazette, the distribution of licenses related to the electricity market occurred as follows:
With the issuance of these licenses, 7 companies' production licenses were canceled, while 3 companies' charging network operator licenses were terminated for other reasons. This situation allows for an increase in competition and innovation within the sector.
In the petroleum sector, EPDK has issued 6 company licenses for delivery, a distributor license to one firm, a lubricating oil license to another firm, and a storage license to yet another firm, aiming to support market dynamics. Additionally, the lubricating oil license of an existing company was also extended, thus attempting to enhance the operational capacities of firms.
These innovative steps taken by EPDK aim to create a healthy competitive environment in the energy and petroleum markets. The license statuses of companies are crucial for market security and sustainable growth.
