The Economy Coordination Council's 2025 Meeting Has Been Held

The Economy Coordination Council (EKK) held its seventh meeting for 2025 at the Presidential Complex. The meeting was attended by Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, AK Party Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala, AK Party Deputy Chairman Nihat Zeybekci, President of the Presidential Strategy and Budget İbrahim Şenel, and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) President Fatih Karahan.

Support for Exporters and Easier Access to Finance

In a statement made after the meeting, it was emphasized that significant steps have been taken to support exporters and facilitate their access to finance. In this context, it was noted that the capital of Turkish Eximbank has been increased and daily rediscount credit limits have been raised.

Key Issues Discussed

During the EKK meeting, efforts and proposals for vocational training aimed at encouraging potential workforce participation in the economy and increasing quality employment were addressed. Additionally, the latest developments in the legislative preparations for new generation working models were evaluated.

Transformation in the Global Economy and the Century of Turkey

The recent developments in exports and the export support provided by Turkish Eximbank were also assessed. Within the framework of the Turkey Century vision, it was expressed that there is a need to focus more on technology-intensive and high value-added production. Policies to capture a larger share of global trade were also discussed.

Structural Policies for Sustainable Growth

It was stated that comprehensive structural policies that will increase productivity and improve the quality of employment will continue to be implemented in order for Turkey to achieve its sustainable and inclusive growth goals.
