The President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made critical statements at his party's TBMM Group Meeting. Erdoğan stated that the minimum pension would be 20 thousand lira, saying, "Our nation knows very well our sincerity and good intentions. The minimum pension will be 20 thousand lira. I believe that the regulation will pass through the Parliament."

Erdoğan also addressed the problems faced by retirees, such as rents and the cost of living, stating, "We are aware of all these issues.
