Çimsa is taking an important step for sustainability-focused transformation projects with the 50 million euros in financing provided by the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development). This financing plays a significant role in helping the company achieve its environmental goals.
This green financing provided by the EBRD is closely related to the comprehensive decarbonization program to be undertaken at Çimsa's Mersin facility. The program aims to reduce the company’s emissions and minimize its environmental impact. In doing so, Çimsa is transitioning to a sustainable production structure and developing solutions that will support reductions in carbon emissions across the industry.
Additionally, the financing also covers the construction of a new Calcium Aluminate Cement (CAC) kiln. This kiln will enable various investments aimed at reducing the emissions of existing grey and white cement kilns. Thus, Çimsa will further strengthen its commitments to environmental sustainability.
The financing provided by the EBRD will enhance Çimsa's operational efficiency in the long term as well as the short term, increasing its competitiveness and strengthening its position in the markets. These investments by Çimsa are also seen as part of a broader strategy aimed at contributing to the green transformation process across Turkey and achieving environmental targets.
Besides the financing, Çimsa's investments in sustainability are receiving strong support at both national and international levels. The company's efforts to reduce its environmental impact and promote sustainable resource use can serve as an example to other players in the industry.
