Mobile Phone Special Consumption Tax Matrah Values Updated: New Limits Established

Re-determination of Mobile Phone ÖTV Matrah

Recently, the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) applied to mobile phones has been re-evaluated. According to the presidential decision published in the Official Gazette, the tax matrah limits used to determine the ÖTV on mobile phones have been increased.

New ÖTV Matrah Limits

The matrah limit for the 25% ÖTV application has been raised from 1,500 TL to 4,500 TL. The 40% ÖTV range has also been increased from 1,500 TL-3,000 TL to 4,500-9,000 TL. With this new regulation, the 50% ÖTV application for other mobile phones will continue as before.

Start of Implementation

The new norms have come into effect as of today. This change is expected to have significant effects on users buying mobile phones.
