Bloomberg HT October 2023 Inflation Survey Results

The inflation expectations for October have been announced. The median expectation of the 19 institutions participating in the survey is that inflation will occur at a monthly rate of 2.71% in October 2023.

According to economists' median estimates, annual inflation is expected to be 33.1% in October. The inflation expectation for the end of 2026 is forecasted to be 23%.

Monthly Inflation Expectations

The lowest expectation for inflation in October is recorded as 2%, while the highest expectation is 2.95%. On an annual basis, the highest inflation forecast for October is 33.4%, and the lowest estimate points to 31.80%.

According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) in the previous September, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 3.23% on a monthly basis. On an annual basis, inflation rose by 33.29%.

2025 and 2026 Year-End Inflation Expectations

Additionally, survey participants shared their inflation expectations for the years 2025 and 2026. The inflation expectation for the end of 2025 is 32%, while the highest estimate is 34.7%, and the lowest estimate is 30.2%.

The inflation prediction for the end of 2026 is recorded as 21%. The highest inflation estimate is 25.1%, and the lowest estimate is 20.2%.
