Recently, discussions about Bitcoin (BTC) have reignited. Jurien Timmer, Fidelity's global macro director, stated that while he remains confident in Bitcoin's long-term potential, 2026 could be a "pause year" for the cryptocurrency market. Timmer referenced Bitcoin's historical four-year halving cycles, indicating that the current price structure also shows signals consistent with these cycles. He stated that gold appreciated by about 65% throughout 2025, emphasizing that this performance surpassed the increase in global money supply. Noting that gold's ability to maintain its gains is a strong bull market signal, Timmer mentioned that Bitcoin has recently shown weak performance and does not anticipate an average reversal between the two assets in the near term.
