Biotrend Enerji's Carbon Credit Potential


Biotrend Enerji currently holds 760,000 tons of ready-to-sell carbon credits in its portfolio. These carbon credits offer a revenue potential ranging between 13.7 million dollars and 38.7 million dollars, depending on market conditions. However, the factors influencing the realization of this revenue are quite critical.

Revenue Potential of Carbon Credits


Carbon credit certificates are significant financial instruments that allow companies to commercialize their emission reductions. Zeki Kanar explained the revenue-generating capacity of these certificates as the intersection of the current certificate quantity and the price range in international markets. Particularly with the emergence of global compliance mechanisms like CORSIA, upward volatility in carbon prices can be observed. This situation may open new revenue doors for companies operating in the energy sector.


Biotrend aims to produce an additional 11 million tons of certificates in the next five years, making the existing 760,000 tons of carbon credits a significant revenue potential based on the set price range. According to MSCI data, CORSIA-compliant price ranges are established at 18-51 dollars/ton in the initial phase, and 27-91 dollars/ton in subsequent periods. These multipliers represent a substantial financial opportunity for the existing carbon credits.
