Biotrend Enerji's Carbon Credit Potential


Biotrend Enerji currently has 760 thousand tons of carbon credits ready for sale in its portfolio. This carbon credit offers a revenue potential ranging between 13.7 million dollars and 38.7 million dollars, depending on market conditions. However, the factors affecting the realization of this revenue are quite critical.

Revenue Potential of Carbon Credits


Carbon credit certificates are significant financial instruments through which companies can commercialize their emission reductions. Zeki Kanar explained the revenue-generating capacity of these certificates by the intersection of the current certificate quantity and the price range in international markets. Especially when global compliance mechanisms such as CORSIA come into play, upward volatility in carbon prices can be observed. This situation can open new revenue doors for companies operating in the energy sector.


Biotrend aims to produce an additional 11 million tons of certificates in the next five years. The existing 760 thousand tons of carbon credits have significant revenue potential according to the determined price range. According to MSCI data, CORSIA compliant price ranges are set at 18-51 dollars/ton in the initial phase and 27-91 dollars/ton in later periods. These multipliers represent a substantial financial opportunity not only for the existing carbon credits.
