"I am traveling, so I haven’t had direct communication with European officials; however, I spoke with President Trump. There is clearly a lot of information. I think everyone should trust the President's word," he said.

In response to a question about possible counter trade measures from Europe due to the Greenland dispute, Bessent replied, "I don't think that would be very wise."
