Berkshire Hathaway announced on Friday details regarding its $4.3 billion stake in Alphabet, the parent company of Google. Additionally, it reported a further reduction in its stake in Apple as Warren Buffett approaches the end of his CEO career, detailing his stock portfolio for perhaps the last time.
In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as of September 30, Berkshire noted that it held 17.85 million shares of Alphabet. This was seen as a reflection of a significant investment strategy up to that date.
Furthermore, Berkshire reduced its stake in Apple from 280 million shares in the third quarter to 238.2 million shares, having sold nearly three-quarters of the 905 million shares it once held.
This filing also recorded that as of September 30, Berkshire's stock investments listed in the United States made up the majority of the conglomerate's $283.2 billion equity portfolio.
