


Today, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake was recorded in Balıkesir, with its epicenter located in the Sındırgı district. According to a statement by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the depth of the earthquake was measured at 5.99 kilometers.
This strong tremor was felt in many provinces, particularly in Istanbul and Izmir, across the Marmara and Aegean regions. Following the earthquake, residents in the area left their homes in fear.
Local authorities have begun to take action to initiate damage assessment efforts. The evaluation of the effects of the earthquake and the implementation of emergency plans will continue in the coming days.
