The number of tourist accommodations in Europe has exceeded various records.

The European tourism industry is quickly continuing its recovery process after the pandemic and has achieved extraordinary success this year. Eurostat released tourism statistics for 2024, revealing that the number of overnight stays in tourist accommodations in European Union (EU) countries has reached 3 billion 22 million. This figure represents an approximate increase of %2.7 compared to last year.

These figures are a clear indicator of how strong the recovery in the tourism sector is. Especially the activity seen in bookings made before holiday seasons has been one of the significant factors driving the increase in the number of overnight stays in tourist facilities in the EU. According to Eurostat data, this increase has occurred at different rates across various EU countries, particularly as popular tourist destinations have increased their visitor numbers, positively reflecting on accommodation durations. Countries such as Italy, Spain, and France have seen a notable rise in tourist flow alongside emerging markets.

Moreover, tourists' accommodation preferences are also changing. Post-pandemic, hygiene standards, requests for private spaces, and vacation sites integrated with nature have become popular. All these factors have accelerated the dynamism and transformation within the accommodation sector in Europe.
