


The first meeting to determine the minimum wage to be implemented in 2026 started at 14:00 at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan, Türk-İş Deputy General President Ramazan Ağar, and President of the Turkish Employers' Association (TİSK) Özgür Burak Akkol.
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which consists of representatives from workers, employers, and the government, plays a critical role in determining the minimum wage. Minister Işıkhan emphasized the importance of this process by listening to the thoughts of the parties involved during the discussion.
Minister Işıkhan stated that the approaches and evaluations of both parties are crucial for the Commission's work. He also underscored the need to strengthen social dialogue and consultation mechanisms.
Işıkhan expressed that they listened to the expectations of the unions regarding the minimum wage, stating, "As the Ministry, we will continue our efforts based on social dialogue. We will complete the process openly to social dialogue within the operation of the Commission."
