Vancouver, BC, October 23, 2025 – Unifor Local 114 has submitted official documents to begin collective bargaining negotiations at the YVR2 facility in Delta B.C.
Earlier this month, YVR2 members elected a bargaining committee to negotiate with Amazon. Despite repeated warnings from the B.C. Labour Relations Board (BCLRB) regarding interference and misconduct in the unionization process, the company continues to spread misinformation to employees.
Unifor National President Lana Payne commented during her warm welcome to employees after the document was approved by the BCLRB, "It is a difficult situation for Amazon to accept that employees have fundamental workplace rights in British Columbia. YVR2 workers deserve respect, and the sooner Amazon realizes this, the sooner we can move towards a free and fair collective bargaining process."
In September, YVR2 employees completed a survey to identify workplace priorities. The results revealed workload, accelerations, and widespread favoritism as the main concerns. Based on the feedback, the bargaining committee began to prepare proposals for meetings with Amazon.
Unifor Western Regional Director Gavin McGarrigle stated, "Being an Amazon employee in the Metro Vancouver area is an exciting time. The negotiations at YVR2 and unionization efforts at other nearby distribution centers demonstrate that unions are the best tool for improving working life. British Columbia’s progressive unionization laws are a vital tool for employees."
On October 16, B.C. Premier David Eby and Labour Minister Jennifer Whiteside met with YVR2 employees at the Unifor offices.
Unifor is Canada’s largest union in the private sector, representing 320,000 workers across every major sector of the economy. This union advocates for the rights of all workers, fights for equality and social justice, and aims to create progressive changes for a better future.
