In Germany, one of the important indicators of the economy, exports experienced an unexpected decline in August. These figures, which provide significant signals regarding economic activity, raised concerns in the markets.
In August, Germany's exports fell by 0.5% compared to the previous month, falling below economists' expected increase of 0.2%. What makes this situation even more noteworthy is the decline in exports to the USA. The downward trend in Germany's exports to the USA continued for a total of five consecutive months.
In August, imports also decreased by 1.3%. This development led to a trade surplus of 17.2 billion euros. In July, this figure was at 16.3 billion euros.
