Retail Sales in August at the Lowest Level in Four Months!

According to TÜİK data, retail sales in Turkey fell to their lowest level in four months in August 2025. The trade volume, however, increased by 6.9%.

Data on the trade sales volume index for the August 2025 period, published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), revealed noteworthy results.

Annual Growth Rates

According to the data for August, the trade sales volume showed a 6.9% increase year-on-year, while the retail sales volume was determined to be 12.2%. In the previous month, the same rate was recorded as 13%.

Lowest Level in Four Months

The data represents the lowest growth rate in a four-month period. The wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles saw a 12.8% increase. Wholesale trade stood out with a 3.4% increase.
