Competition Authority revealed that, as a result of a comprehensive investigation, certain pricing strategies implemented by the Adidas brand on its authorized sellers have restrictive effects on competition.
As a result of the examinations, it was determined that Adidas established strict regulations regarding discount rates that authorized sellers could apply, which products could be discounted, and discount periods. This circumstance was found to limit price competition by allowing sellers to determine resale prices.
According to the announcement published on the official website of the Competition Authority, a total administrative fine of 402 million TL was imposed on Adidas for the identified violations. This penalty demonstrates the seriousness of the findings and the importance placed on protecting competition.
It has been stated that the intervention in the pricing policies of authorized sellers has created significant anti-competitive effects, particularly in online sales channels. It is noted that a careful monitoring process will be implemented against such practices.
