The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has announced an important change regarding the release date of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data.
The BLS reported that the September CPI data will be published on October 24 at 15:30 Turkey time. Normally, this data was scheduled to be released on October 15; however, the federal government’s failure to approve the budget proposal has negatively impacted the flow of financial data due to the shutdown process.
Due to the government shutdown, the BLS has halted its activities related to data collection and preparation of economic statistics. This situation has prevented the release of many important data, including critical figures such as non-farm employment, which are crucial for the Federal Reserve.
The BLS stated that the publication of this data will allow the Social Security Administration to meet the necessary legal timelines to make payments on time. Thus, the inflation data will have a significant impact on the markets.
