


According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the third quarter of 2025, covering the period from July to September, was recorded at %8.5. This rate is based on the results of the labor force survey.
In the third quarter, the number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and over decreased by 26,000 compared to the previous quarter, falling to 3 million 10 thousand people. The unemployment rate was %7.0 for men and %11.2 for women. During this period, the seasonally adjusted employment rate remained at %49.0.
In the third quarter of 2025, the number of employed individuals increased by 65,000 compared to the previous quarter, reaching 32 million 558 thousand people. The employment rate was %66.2 for men and %32.1 for women. The labor force participation rate was determined to be %53.5; this rate was %71.2 for men and %36.2 for women.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the young population aged 15-24 was determined to be %15.3. Compared to the previous quarter, this rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points; unemployment among young individuals is estimated to be %11.7 for men and %21.8 for women.
The seasonally and calendar adjusted average actual weekly working hours increased by 0.4 hours compared to the previous quarter, reaching 42.5 hours. Additionally, the seasonally adjusted inactive labor force rate decreased to %29.4, showing a reduction of 2.6 percentage points. The rate of time-related underemployment and unemployed individuals was estimated at %18.9, while the rate of potential labor force and unemployed individuals was estimated at %20.3.
