


The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has determined the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate to be 8.6 percent. According to the results of the Household Labor Force Survey conducted among individuals aged 15 and over, the number of unemployed people in September 2025 increased by 12 thousand, reaching 3 million 75 thousand compared to the previous month.
The employment rate was recorded at 48.9%. In September 2025, the number of employed individuals decreased by 200 thousand, falling to 32 million 491 thousand. This rate was 66.3% for men and 31.8% for women.
The labor force participation rate decreased to 53.5% in September 2025. The labor force was reported at 35 million 566 thousand people, with a participation rate of 71.6% for men and 35.7% for women.
The unemployment rate among the youth aged 15-24 fell to 14.9%, showing significant progress. The unemployment rate for young men was 11.4%, while for young women it was 21.4%.
The average actual working hours of employed individuals in September 2025 was recorded as 42.9 hours, seasonally and calendar adjusted. This showed an increase of 1.0 hour compared to the previous month.
The inactive labor force rate, considering the time-related underemployment and potential labor force along with the unemployed, was reported as 28.6%. The integrated rate of time-related underemployment and unemployed individuals was estimated at 18.0%, while the unemployed and potential labor force rate was estimated at 20.5%.
